who doesn’t love an adventure?
I love combining my knowledge and skills as a Transformational Life Coach & Breathwork Coach with being a Mountain Bike Guide (British Cycling Level 2), to bring you mindful adventures.
WHAT IS A MINDFUL ADVENTURE?
The opportunity to connect with your mind, body and nature using bikes (or boots) as our vehicle. We will incorporate mindfulness activities and discussions along the way, using nature as our inspiration and playground.
Riding bikes and accessing wild places, (whether it’s by bike or by foot) has helped boost my mental health and wellbeing over the years and I want to share this with you.
Check out the dates below to join a mixed group OR I can also create bespoke packages to suit small groups and/or private sessions. I can also collaborate with other providers (eg yoga teachers, SUP instructors), so be sure to get in touch and allow me to create the perfect mindful activity weekend for you and your friends, family and/or colleagues.
And, if you have an event that you think my services could add value to, please do also get in touch.

Guided Mindful Biking
EXPLORE | CONNECT | RESET
A guided mountain bike ride that meets mindfulness.
We slow things down a little as we explore, creating space and time to connect with your mind, body and nature. We have discussions about mindset, confidence, and self worth, taking some time out for breathwork and some journaling, and of course find some flowy blue trails to play on.
WHERE:
Glentress (Tweed Valley)
Aviemore (Highlands)
Aberdeenshire
A typical day:
We will meet (usually a cafe eg Rider Retreat at the bottom of Glentress trails) around 9:30am, starting with a bike check and introductions, ready to roll around 10am.
Returning for lunch around 1pm (not included in cost).
2 - 3:30pm Workshop - journaling, breathwork, guided discussions, action planning
If weather causes issues, we try to build in some flexibility to return to base early or start a little later, and flip the activities around.

WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING?
“For my birthday, 3 friends and I had a day riding the trails at Glentress with Jen from Mindful Routes. From the start she was welcoming and adaptable in what was a mixed ability group. It was a refreshing change to have a day on the bikes when it wasn’t all about distance, speed, hills – this was no sufferfest! It was a truly wonderful day having a chance to connect with nature, each other and yourself. The journaling aspect wasn’t new to me, but it was wonderful to have some reflective time for myself. The breathwork was relaxing and a skill to take into the everyday. We lucked out with the weather, too (always an added bonus). Jen was unflappable when one of us hit the deck early on and we also had a bike malfunction. I got some pointers on my riding which I’m still putting into practice, along with the breathwork. A hugely enjoyable day on an e-mtb and something I’d do again and recommend to others. You do not need to be a hardcore cyclist to participate, just someone with basic cycling skills and an open mind. Do not hesitate, get it booked and prepare for a FUN day!”

“Right from the time of booking, to the end of our fabulous day out, Jen was helpful and informative with everything. We received all the details we needed and greeted with enthusiasm in the beautiful Glentrees cycle park. The mountain biking on the e-bikes was great fun and our safety and abilities were all accounted for. We were able to explore the stunning hills and views, and incorporate the mindfulness, journalling and breath work. To be in these surroundings, with great company too, really allowed the mindfulness be understood. Thankyou Jen for guiding us through this great experience”.

“I enjoyed the weekend so so much! Thank you Jen. I now feel relaxed and really inspired to keep on looking after and being kind to myself. I loved that you used lots of different breathing techniques, and it makes such a huge difference to be doing the breathwork in the forest and surrounded by nature. Your approach is thoughtful and really personable, you made it so easy to relax and give everything a go.
I've never journaled before, but loved the way you introduced it. I'd thought it might be hard, and maybe not for me, but the way you explained and led us helped me to see that I like it... after the retreat I was trying to decide if I'd do it every day morning or night, then decided maybe I'd do both!
But more than the techniques, I just love your openness and your passion in helping others to understand and access these techniques - I wish we could clone you and give everyone a chance to attend a retreat with you! I can't wait to book the next one.”

“I had such a great time last weekend with you and all the girls, you are amazing at what you do - I felt totally secure, listened to and learned so much during our time with you. It has really helped me over the last week especially the breathing. You were so kind, calm and knowledgeable and I think we all wanted to stay much longer, felt like I had been wrapped up in a cosy blanket all weekend.”
